Sonora Dendritic Jasper is a rhyolite containing branch or fern-like markings called dendrites. It was first found in 2009 in New Mexico, when a man was chasing his goat through the mountains and stumbled upon the deposit and kept a little bit for himself. The specimens were brought to the Tuscon Gem and Mineral Show, and gained quite a bit of interest, and people began to search for the deposit.  By 2011 the deposit was rediscovered but unfortunately was not easy to mine. This mineral forms in little clusters across the mountain top, so it must be mined by hand and hauled out of the rugged terrain on foot. This Jasper is a stone of abundance. It can help create a peaceful environment and allow one to take pleasure in every moment of life. It can open and align the chakras and help one stay tuned with their roots.
