Rhyolite Beads & Pendants

Rhyolite is an olive green stone with swirling brown, grey, and white inclusions. This stone is similar in composition to granite and quartz, but with a high content of silica minerals.

In jewelry design, Rhyolite looks best with gold-toned metals. Raw or coated brass looks great with Rhyolite. This stone has a unique color palette that is challenging to coordinate with other gemstones. We suggest using dark, neutral stones when designing with Rhyolite, such as Smoky Quartz and Bronzite.

The name Rhyolite is derived from the Greek word “rhyax,” meaning lava, and the suffix “-lite” meaning rock. Rhyolite is most often found today in Mexico and parts of China. Yellowstone National Park is also home to many large formations of Rhyolite.

In the metaphysical community, Rhyolite is known as an emotionally healing stone. Rhyolite’s spiritual properties are said to boost self-esteem and self-acceptance as well as moving on from past heartbreaks.
