Mexican Laguna Lace Agate
Laguna Lace Agate is the most prized agate in the world and we can see why. The beautiful scarlet red banding, fossil inclusions, and the many layers containing shades of deep red, milky white, yellow, gold and brown make it stunning stone to behold.
This gemstone is mined mostly in roughly a four square mile region in the Chihuahua State of Mexico. It is a banded form of the mineral Chalcedony, which is a microcrystalline variety of Quartz. Neolithic artifacts containing agate suggest it may have been used as a Talisman thousands of years ago. In current times it is used to ward off negative energy, calm the digestive tract, increase focus during meditation, and balance the overall torso chakras.
