Carnelian Beads & Carnelian Pendants
Carnelian is a glassy translucent stone that ranges from a deep dark rusty orange to a pale peachy pink color and can sometimes contain unique banding, but it mostly known for its rich orange color. It is a variety of chalcedony, or part of the quartz family. Its name is derived from the Latin word meaning “flesh.” Carnelian is said to represent love, and helps aid in fertility. Ancient Egyptians wore them to represent martyrs, and they believed that the stone fended off illness and the plague.
